Martin Garrix is continuing to expand his role beyond the DJ booth and production studio.

The Dutch superstar has previewed “This Dream Of You,” a new track that features Garrix himself on vocals and was scheduled for release on October 2. DJ Mag

Garrix first tested an early version of the song in front of one of electronic music’s biggest audiences, using it as the opening track of his Tomorrowland 2026 performance.

He later shared another preview showing himself singing while playing guitar.

The move continues a creative direction introduced earlier this year with “Catharina”, which marked Garrix’s first release built around his own solo vocals. DJ Mag

For an artist whose career has been built primarily around production, festival performances and collaborations with singers, stepping directly into the vocalist role represents a notable shift.

Garrix has openly acknowledged that singing remains outside his usual comfort zone, describing the process as an opportunity to experiment and develop creatively. DJ Mag

“This Dream Of You” is also expected to form part of his upcoming second album.

The project follows a particularly active period for Garrix, whose 2026 output has included collaborations with major international artists. His official catalogue lists recent releases with U2, Madonna and Ed Sheeran alongside his solo track “Catharina”. Martin Garrix | Official Website

For one of the most established names in modern EDM, the decision to place his own voice closer to the centre of the music suggests an artist increasingly willing to reshape the boundaries of the Martin Garrix project.

After more than a decade at the top of festival culture, that willingness to take creative risks may prove just as important as another mainstage anthem.
